When a parent or guardian enrolls in WVCS Field Trip Text Notifications through our online enrollment form, WVCS may collect:

• Parent or guardian name.

• Mobile telephone number.

• Student name and grade.

• Date and time of consent.

• Method and source of consent.

• The version of the consent language accepted.

• Subscription and opt-out status.

• Messaging activity related to the program.

 

WVCS collects this information only after the parent or guardian affirmatively chooses to enroll in text notifications.

WVCS uses mobile information to provide requested school-related text notifications concerning student field trips.

 

Messages may include:

• Notification that a field-trip permission form is available.

• Links to securely review or complete a permission form.

• Reminders about incomplete forms.

• Notices about approaching deadlines.

• Relevant updates concerning an applicable field trip.

• Confirmation that a field-trip form has been received.

 

WVCS may also use consent records to document compliance with messaging and communications requirements.

WVCS does not share, sell, rent, or otherwise provide mobile telephone numbers or text-messaging opt-in and consent information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

​WVCS may use contracted service providers, including telecommunications and technology providers, solely as necessary to operate and deliver the requested messaging service. These service providers may process information only to perform services on behalf of WVCS and may not use mobile information or consent information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency varies according to applicable school activities and field trips but typically will not exceed four messages per month.

Message and data rates may apply according to the recipient’s mobile-service plan.

Participation in the WVCS Field Trip Text Notifications program is optional.

Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any WVCS text message. After an opt-out request is received, WVCS will send a confirmation message and discontinue additional Field Trip Text Notifications unless the recipient affirmatively enrolls again.

WVCS uses reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect mobile information and messaging consent records from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and WVCS cannot guarantee absolute security.

WVCS may update this SMS Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this webpage with a revised effective date.
