Admissions
Although West Valley Christian School was established primarily to provide
a Christian education for the children of Seventh-day Adventist church
members, it is open to all persons of good moral character, who may or
may not be members of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination, but who respect
the standards and the ideals of the church and demonstrate reverence and
willingness to observe wholeheartedly all regulations of the school. WVCS
admits students of any race, nationality, or ethnic origin. The School
Board reserves the right to refuse admittance to any students who do not
exhibit behavior in harmony with the school’s principles.
Current Students
Returning students applying may consider themselves accepted unless notified
otherwise by the School Board. According to the working policy of West
Valley School Board, no student may be enrolled until his or her previous
account is paid in full.
New Students
New students will be accepted on an individual basis as they apply during the year. Report cards, standardized achievement test, and letters of recommendation from the previous
school will assess prior school performance. The child’s cumulative folder will be required. New students will be tested to assess their
level of academic proficiency. Students will not be admitted until they are tested. New students are admitted on a nine week probationary
status after testing.
Special Needs Students
West Valley may not be equipped to meet the special needs of some students.
Admission may not be granted if these students needs cannot be appropriately
accommodated.
Physicals and Immunizations
Students entering Kindergarten must present a current physical examination,
proof of up-to-date immunization, and a current tuberculin (TB) test before
admission, as required by California State Law. A new law requires that
all seventh-grade students have a series of three (3) doses of hepatitis
vaccine. All Kindergarteners must have a Varicella immunization before
entering Kindergarten. Physicals are also required for all new students
and seventh graders.
